The Description
Our Padstow is a premium pair of men’s shoes crafted from navy nubuck and brown waxy leather, designed as a classic boat shoe for relaxed, warm-weather wear. A softer-density rubber sole with wave-pattern grooves helps disperse water, providing confident traction on wet or uneven surfaces. A cushioned forepart pad delivers a soft, supportive step, reducing fatigue during extended wear. Moccasin construction and soft-touch materials allow the shoe to move naturally with the foot, while offering protection against splashes and light surface moisture. Finished with a hand-stitched apron, Padstow combines durability with a refined, heritage-inspired aesthetic.
Built on the ‘Sail’ last and available in an F fitting, this boat shoe offers a generous, supportive fit. Designed and engineered in Kettering, Northamptonshire, and handmade in our high-grade factory in India, these men’s shoes reflect Loake’s commitment to quality craftsmanship.
We recommend using a shoehorn to help maintain the shape, prevent creasing of the heel, and allow the foot to glide in with ease – keeping your shoes looking their best and feeling comfortable from the first wear.
The Last
Sail
This last is used for our more relaxed deck shoe styles, featuring a shorter, rounded toe shape that complements casual, laid-back silhouettes. Designed specifically for men’s shoes in this category, it provides a comfortable, supportive fit while maintaining a neat, stylish appearance. Compared to Loake’s formal lasts, the sizing is slightly less generous, so many customers may prefer to try a half size larger for the best fit. Combining everyday practicality with refined design, this last ensures durability, comfort, and the signature craftsmanship of Loake men’s shoes.
