The Description
The Loake Chester is a premium brogue shoe in rich mahogany calf leather, offering timeless elegance and dependable wear. Built on the traditional 024 last, it provides a comfortable F fitting with a classic rounded profile that has long been a hallmark of Loake design. Featuring Goodyear welted rubber studded soles, Chester delivers exceptional durability, reliable grip, and excellent shape retention, with the added benefit of resoling for extended life. Designed and engineered in Kettering, Northamptonshire, and handmade in our high-grade factory in England, these men’s shoes reflect Loake’s enduring commitment to traditional British craftsmanship and style.
We recommend using a shoehorn to help maintain the shape, prevent creasing of the heel, and allow the foot to glide in with ease – keeping your shoes looking their best and feeling comfortable from the first wear.
Please note, these shoes come with a complementary pair of protective cloth bags.
The Last
024
024 is one of two country last shapes Loake use currently. It is used for less formal shoes such as our iconic ‘Chester’ brogue and ‘Burford’ boot. Like most country style last shapes, 024 is a little roomier by design to allow for thicker socks to be worn. The toe shape is rounded on this last.

A collection of classic styles crafted from high-quality, calf leathers and featuring the famous Goodyear Welted construction. Reflecting the traditional heritage of Loake dating back to 1880, many of our hand-finished, luxurious styles in this collection have become icons in their own right.
All 1880 Classic styles are made in our Northamptonshire factory, located in the heart of England.
