The Description
The Russell reimagines a classic tassel loafer with the distinctive touch of Barbour Re-Loved. Each pair combines premium Loake leathers with upcycled Barbour wax jackets, creating a unique finish and story.
Built on Loake’s College last with a durable rubber sole, the Russell features a cushioned in-sock with arch support, lined in Barbour tartan for comfort. Each pair is accompanied by a dual-branded keyring crafted from surplus Loake leather and repurposed Barbour buttons.
Limited in production, the Russell reflects both brands’ commitment to craftsmanship, longevity, and the enduring spirit of British making.
We recommend using a shoehorn to help maintain the shape, prevent creasing of the heel, and allow the foot to glide in with ease – keeping your shoes looking their best and feeling comfortable from the first wear.
Please note, these shoes come with a complementary pair of protective cloth bags.
The Last
College
Loafer last shape, designed for use with slip on styles. The College last has a standard length toe, with a pointed round toe shape. This last generally runs true to size, although it is designed to fit snugly as befits a loafer style.
The Collection

A collection of classic styles crafted from high-quality, calf leathers and featuring the famous Goodyear Welted construction. Reflecting the traditional heritage of Loake dating back to 1880, many of our hand-finished, luxurious styles in this collection have become icons in their own right.
All 1880 Classic styles are made in our Northamptonshire factory, located in the heart of England.
