The Description
The Loake Aldwych is a premium toe cap Oxford, crafted from high-quality black calf leather for a refined and timeless finish. Built on the Capital last, it offers a classic F fitting, providing a sleek and elegant profile ideal for formal and professional settings. Featuring Goodyear welted rubber studded soles, Aldwych ensures superior comfort, excellent grip, shape retention, and the option of resoling for long-lasting wear. Designed and engineered in Kettering, Northamptonshire, and handmade in Loake’s high-grade factory in England, these mens shoes embody Loake’s renowned craftsmanship, blending traditional shoemaking techniques with everyday practicality. A true wardrobe essential.
We recommend using a shoehorn to help maintain the shape, prevent creasing of the heel, and allow the foot to glide in with ease – keeping your shoes looking their best and feeling comfortable from the first wear.
Please note, these shoes come with a complementary pair of protective cloth bags.
The Last
Capital
One of our most versatile shoe lasts, Capital is used for several of our 1880 styles from formal shoes such as our ‘Aldwych’ toe cap Oxford to boots such as ‘Pimlico’ and ‘Hyde’. It is a medium width last with a slight chisel shape to the toe and runs true to size. Capital has been a popular choice with our customers since its introduction, currently nine styles are made on this last.
The Collection
1880 Classic
A collection of classic styles crafted from high-quality, calf leathers and featuring the famous Goodyear Welted construction. Reflecting the traditional heritage of Loake dating back to 1880, many of our hand-finished, luxurious styles in this collection have become icons in their own right.
All 1880 Classic styles are made in our Northamptonshire factory, located in the heart of England.
